Jannie is an advocate of life-long learning and is currently working on a Doctorate in Business Administration. She knows that both hard knowledge and soft skills are essential for great leadership, particularly when you need to future-proof leaders in an AI digital world. “When you lead – your team or your whole business – you want to achieve a collective impact. That requires cultural sensitivity and critical thinking. Before you can collaborate or lead, you first need self-understanding and reflection. Developing leaders at every level in these skills, is essential for successful business.”
As well as leading regional expansion of organisations, Jannie has built and trained up local teams while establishing local partnerships. Jannie is also an active community leader helping NGOs and mentoring young people to prepare themselves beyond the school gates. “Developing the talent of the future is so important to our world. We need people to be agile, resilient, know not just how to do things, but how to work with others and manage themselves. Our world changes so quickly that the most important skills are sometimes the ones that no one teaches at school. We all need to be good at working with others and helping everyone around us be the best they can be.” Jannie loves to create synergy between business and education, and facilitates learning in a life-time.
Jannie was born in and is based in Hong Kong. She is multi-cultural and multi-lingual with native fluency in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, and a minor in Japanese. She loves the vibrant and diverse culture of the city where the East meets the West, and she is committed to playing her part in connecting both.
Jannie is a published songwriter who then decided to focus on her career in commerce. Yet, music has never left her!
